FM 2499 Overview

The recently opened FM 2499 project included rebuilding the mainlanes of FM 2499 from SH 121 to Denton Creek. The project features new “depressed” (lowered) lanes and allows commuters to bypass the intersections of Stars and Stripes Way and Grapevine Mills Blvd. Also open are north and southbound FM 2499 frontage roads, and two intersections that were rebuilt as bridges. The bridges over Denton Creek were also rebuilt. Construction began in late 2013 and the facility was open, ahead of schedule, in July 2016. Click here for our fact sheet.

In 2014, funds became available for construction of new ramps from William D. Tate Avenue to SH 121 and SH 360. These new ramps provide drivers better access to SH 121/360 and allow them to bypass the Stone Myers Pkwy. intersection. Click here for our fact sheet.

On November 12, 2015, these new ramps opened to the general public more than one year ahead of schedule.
