From 8 PM Friday, 9/6 to 6 AM Monday, 9/9, NorthGate Constructors will be demolishing the old eastbound I-635 bridge for the I-635/SH 121 Interchange project.

The operation will be split into two different segments. The first will be from 8 PM on Friday to 8 AM on Saturday morning. During this time, full closures on southbound SH 121/FM 2499, southbound SH 121/FM 2499 at Bass Pro Drive, northbound SH 121 at I-635, westbound SH 114 off-ramp to SH 121, and westbound I-635 off-ramp to SH 121 will be in place. Please be aware that this work will cause back-ups and slow traffic throughout the area.

The second half of the demolition will be from 8 AM Saturday to 6 AM on Monday morning. During this time, full closures of northbound SH 121 at Bass Pro Drive and southbound SH 121/FM 2499 at Bass Pro Drive will be in place. Although the previous night’s closures will no longer be in place, we recommend still adding time to your commute to account for the congested traffic. To learn more about the closures associated with the operations, please visit our lane closures page.

Starting at 8 AM on Sunday 9/8 to 6 AM on Monday 9/9, our team will be preparing for a traffic switch on northbound SH 121 to eastbound I-635. All traffic on eastbound SH 114/northbound SH 121 at I-635 will be detoured to Freeport Pkwy. Click here for a detour map.

NorthGate Constructors

In response to the unique challenges of the DFW Connector project, two of Texas’ most respected organizations in the highway construction industry – Fort Worth-based Kiewit Texas Construction L.P. and San Antonio-based Zachry Construction Corporation – joined to form NorthGate Constructors, a Joint Venture.

With resources that included access to thousands of Texas-based employees and the nation’s largest privately owned equipment fleet, NorthGate Constructors delivered the DFW Connector project for TxDOT and the motorists of North Central Texas.
